The terrorist attack on America on September 11, 2001 was a tragedy of epic proportions. What few would care to find out is that the President of the United States is implicated strongly in its planning and its outcomes.
The History Channel in recent years did a special on the attack on Pearl Harbor in which it gave documented evidence that President Roosevelt knew that attack was coming and actually allowed it to take place as a way to get Americans behind the war effort.
Other, less glamorous precedents of this phenomenon can be given, such as Hitler's burning of the Reichstag to provide impetus for his war effort.
As an outcome of the 911 attack, we have legislation such as the Patriot Act that significantly curtails fundamental rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights. Also, the Iraq war has increased U.S. presence and control in the Mideast.
The question of why and to what extent President George W. Bush was involved in the terrorist attack on America will take years of investigation and probing to conclude with any degree of finality. But what can be determined with clarity at this point is that he had foreknowledge, and he had an agenda -- and that his actions amount to high treason.

I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine , in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry, including Enron CEO Ken Lay, I was elected governor of Texas .
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS
I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union.

During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America
I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.
I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.
With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida , and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT
I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.
I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.
I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.
I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.
I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.
I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.
I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market.

If you've ever watched Judge Judy or The People's Court, or any of the other judge shows on daytime TV, you've probably seen "the gotcha moment." One of the litigants will say something that contradicts something he or she has already said, or that contradicts common human nature, and the judge will raise an eyebrow, wag a finger and scold, "Once you've lied in this court, I can't trust you again. Why should I believe anything you say?"
The liar has lost his or her credibility, and almost invariably lost the case.
Nobody likes to be lied to, and once you know someone's a liar it makes sense to be skeptical about any other tall tales a liar offers. As President Bush famously said, "Fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again."

How many times has the Bush administration been applied the Judge Judy rule, we'd never believe
a word from Bush, Cheney, or any of the familiar
faces who surround them.
And what would happen to our understanding of
9/11, in light of the Judge Judy rule? After all,
virtually everything we know (or think we know)
about the events of September 11, 2001 is a
reflection of what the Bush-Cheney administration
has told us.
It was impressive how quickly the Justice Department identified the nineteen hijackers. We saw their pictures on the television that afternoon, and in the next day's newspapers. But at least five of the people in those pictures were later found alive and well, and had nothing to do with the attacks.

Something remarkable happened Monday: the Corporate Media finally got sick of Bush's endless lies about Iraq, and started to tell the truth.
The immediate cause was a front-page New York Times story [1] about the "White House Memo," a 5-page report on the White House meeting between George Bush and Tony Blair on January 31, 2003 - seven weeks before the invasion of Iraq.
At that time, millions of us were protesting around the world. We all knew Bush wanted war - that's why we were protesting! - but Bush insisted publicly that he did not, and the Corporate Media let him get away with his lies.
The "White House Memo" proves that Bush was lying - saying one thing in public while saying the opposite in private. In private, he told Tony Blair that war was inevitable, and that it didn't matter if WMD's were found or if the U.N. adopted a resolution actually authorizing the invasion.
In fact, Bush was so desperate for war that he proposed painting a U.S. spy plane with U.N. colors and flying it over Iraq to provoke an attack. But even if Saddam refused the bait, Bush told Blair the bombing would begin on March 10. Bush wanted war, no matter what.
The Times article caused White House reporters to challenge Scott McClellan at the morning press gaggle [2]. And in the evening, the "White House Memo" was featured on two key cable shows - Hardball with Chris Matthews [3] and Countdown with Keith Olbermann [4].
Why is the truth finally breaking through? Because of us - all of us.
We marched by the millions before the war and predicted misery and horror, and we were right. When the Downing Street Memos proved Bush planned war all along, we created our own media (http://afterdowningstreet.org [5]) to tell the story the Corporate Media refused to tell. When we got tired of being ignored, we commissioned our own polls and began a grassroots impeachment movement (http://impeachpac.org [6]) to tell Congress and the media that we would ultimately hold Bush accountable for his lies.
And now we have reached a turning point in our "long march" for Truth. Everyone in the world knows in their heart that Bush lied. Soon everyone will say it out loud: Bush Lied. When millions of Americans say those two simple words - and the media finally joins us - Bush's reign of fear will come to a crashing halt.
That day cannot come soon enough for the people of America and the world.
Let's seize the moment we've demanded for five long years. Call your favorite talk shows. Write letters to your favorite newspapers. Call and write your Representatives and Senators. Our message is simple and clear: Bush Lied so he must be Impeached.

Many people are aware that George Bush has broken numerous laws during his presidency. BuzzFlash has certainly pointed out several instances. But today, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member John Conyers (D-MI) released "Constitution in Crisis," a report identifying 26 specific laws and regulations implicated by the Bush Administration.
The 350-page document is divided into sections on Iraq and civil liberties and supported with more than 1,400 footnotes.
"The situation we find ourselves in today under the administration of George W. Bush is systemically worse than previous scandals such as Watergate and Iran-Contra," Conyers said. "The alleged acts of wrongdoing my staff has documented -- which include making misleading statements about the decision to go to war; manipulating intelligence; facilitating and countenancing torture; using classified information to out a CIA agent; and violating federal surveillance and privacy laws -- are quite serious."
Conyers proposed a series of recommendations based on the report's findings, many of which are based on passing some of the many bills he and others have introduced to improve oversight and accountability.
